New Life

New life abounds in the Father's Hands
He gives it to whom He chooses.
He plants the seeds in darkness
When it feels like He's nowhere around.
He carefully places the tiny seeds
In the places of my heart
Where He's broken the ground.

Tears of sorrow and heat of battle
Cause the seed to burst open and take root.
Only the Father knows how long it will be
Until the sprout springs forth
And new life begins to grow. And with it
Will come a feeling of exhileratiohn
That seems to come from nowhere.

The warmth of God's love waters
The heart, my praise and thanksgiving
Fertilize the tree as it grows strong
And begins to bear fruit.
And to my surprise, the sun now shines
in the dark places of my heart; the brokeness is now
a Garden of Peace bearing spiritual fruit.

Abundant Life

Word of the Week: Abundant - more than enough

Bible Verse: Give and it shall be given to you a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you. Luke 6:38 NKJV

It's amazing how the abundance God gives us is unseen until we need it. He plants the seeds to meet our needs always just at the right time -

The day I was admitted to the hospital my head was spinning. It wasn't what I expected to happen, yet the pain in my chest and arms had taken my breath away and I knew something was wrong.

My husband and I didn't know what this all would lead to and of course our thoughts were swirling like dust devils. Apparently my 50th birthday opened the door and ushered us into a new era. Oxygen in my nose, heart monitor beeping and the stabbing pain in my left wrist coming from the I.V. site were all signs of change. We silently exchanged serious looks as we waited; time crawling at snail-speed.

After the results of the heart cath (50% narrowing of the main artery) we became aware of the fact that we had been blessed with a "warning". With medication, change in diet and increased exercise hopefully the problem with my heart will not get any worse. With a sigh of relief and thankful hearts we hugged each other and thanked God for the blessing.

Once I was home, other blessings seemed to rain down on us - food was prepared and brought to us for a week. Finacially we were unexpectedly blessed with money from vacation time I had accured, as well as being paid for the time I was off work. God's abundance began to appear; we were surrounded by His provisions which were more than enough to get us through the crisis.

What an awesome experience!

Abundant life comes from above

in spite of what happens

I have found

God provides what we need

love, comfort and encouragement

all heavenly seed

To enjoy and give thanks

letting it multiply in

our hearts

Bearing spiritual fruit to share

with others God sends

for care.

The Valley of the Shadow of Death

Black is the night
that came upon me suddenly;
on bended knees I
hide my face from the storm.

The valley surrounds me,
the lush green grass disappears
into the darkness; it's the
blackest of black I've ever know.

Sightless, pressing my body
against the earth; silently
knowing God is with me,
I wait with a trusting heart.

And then the storm passed,
the darkness was only for a moment -
I rise and see dimly, the
dawning of a glorious new day.

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preseve me from trouble. Psalms 32:7

For the LORD will be your everlasting light. Isaiah 60:20
